Smile Starters is Hiring a Dental Assistant (We will train you) Near Asheville, NC

We offer a 40 hour work week,Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans,Company paid Long Term Disability and Company paid Basic Life, after the waiting period. We also offer a company match 401k plan.

This position allows you to work in a team setting with a group of equal minded dental professionals

Smile Starters is a general dental practice that chooses to see ages 1 through 20. We are committed to educating our young patients on best practices for optimal dental health between visits. We find that working with the youngest members of our community leads to the best long-term results - rewarding for our dedicated team of Hygienists, Assistants, and Dentists who love to see the results of their work. Hundreds of our former patients now bring their children to see us!

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers in the dental office
  • Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to assist team

Skills

  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • Enjoys a busy active day
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. N2O)
  • Bilingual a plus!
