Smith County is Hiring a Seasonal Laborer Near Tyler, TX

The Seasonal Laborer is responsible for operation of light duty equipment, specifically tractors with mower attachments, for the Road and Bridge department.
Seasonal employment will last from May through September, and may include work outside of normal business hours.
  • Mows and maintains road right-of-ways as assigned by the crew supervisor.
  • Reports completed job data to the crew supervisor including, but not limited to, labor and equipment time.
  • Upkeeps, cares for and stores crew-assigned equipment.
  • Fills in other areas as needed.
  • Must be able to safely operate light duty equipment utilized in mowing and right-of-way maintenance operations for an average of six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary for certain locations by supervisory personnel.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Licenses and CertificationsMust have valid Texas Driver License, Class C or higher.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentDaily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, reaching and lifting of items possible weighing 40 pounds or more, in an outdoor environment with exposure to sever extremes in weather.
