A DAY IN THE LIFE!

You will work with the smokey point distributing staff daily to troubleshoot and solve technical issues. You will also collaborate with off-site system administrators to support the maintenance of on-site infrastructure.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist end-users with diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues through strong listening skills over the phone and in person.
  • Work hands-on with installation, upgrades, testing, and maintenance of new and existing technological systems.
  • Support remote administrators in the day-to-day management of Active Directory, Remote Desktop, and Office 365.
  • Provide basic network support of the office infrastructure including cable management, general networking knowledge, and support of other networking equipment.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and administration of end-user equipment, computer systems, and other office support infrastructure.
  • Set up client hardware and software applications including the setup and maintenance of access rights following company policy and legal compliance.

YOUR SKILLSET

  • Proven communication skills with the ability to work with a range of different personnel.
  • The ability to manage your time in an environment with fluid deadlines.
  • Prior experience working with a variety of operating systems and platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (an equivalent amount of education and experience may be substituted).
  • 2 years of experience in a system administrator role, managing large-scale computer systems, networks, and servers.
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of the SPD employment process (including a background check).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience working within the IT field in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Previous experience in an Office365 environment and managing servers.
  • Previous experience assisting end users within an environment utilizing a transportation management system (TMS), McLeod is preferred.

SALARY AND SCHEDULE

  • Salary: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour, decided based on experience.
  • Schedule: Full-time on-site; Monday – Friday.
