Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the consumer electronics vaping industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on design, optimization, and root cause analysis for consumer electronics vaping products. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in next generation product development, optimization of current products, and providing solutions in a timely manner for pre-sales, customer complaints and customization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide test/evaluation of products and new technologies in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Develop pass-fail evaluation methods in vaping industry and create SOPs.
- Conduct structural tests to identify potential failures, interpret test results, summarize failure modes, provide recommendations, optimize 3D drawings, and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with market insight group to design, fabricate, evaluate and optimize prototypes.
- Develop and organize engineering documentation, including products specifications, selling points, drawings, and test plans.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and objectives.
- Optimize current products to fit in need of customers.
- Provide technical support in a timely manner for pre-sales, customer complaints and customization. Business travel is required for some of the services, usually less than 5%.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and industrial designers, to ensure seamless integration of structural and functional elements.
- Collaborate with product design teams to integrate structural considerations into product concepts and prototypes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related engineering field with 2 years’ experience; master’s degree is preferred.
- Solid experience working as a structural engineer, preferably in consumer electronics device.
- Familiar with mechanical designs, 3D prototyping, and related software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Ansys). Background in fluid dynamic simulation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Able to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment, strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
