SMX is Hiring a Sr. Database Administrator (3612) Near Aberdeen, MD
SMX is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support INSCOM PSI-CoE at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of databases along with 5 years working with DBMS. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct monitoring performance and managing parameters for fast query responses
Map out conceptual design and refine logical design for planned database
Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary 'metadata'
Control access permissions and privileges
Develop and deliver managing and testing backup and recovery plans
Ensure storage, archiving, backup, and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
Perform capacity planning
Work closely with project managers, database programmers, and web developers
Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
Commission and install new applications
Secure databases per INSCOM, DoD, DA, DIA, NSA policies and regulations
Ensure all major database changes follow the unit’s CMB process with regular timelines and milestones identified and met
Provide restoration services sufficient to ensure high availability of databases
Required Skills, Experience & Education
Top Secret clearance required with NATO access
SQL 2019 or later-Contractor must be certified in a Microsoft SQL product which complies with DoD 8570 requirements.
Desired Skills, Experience & Education
Windows Server 2019 or later
Familiar and have experience administrating in a Windows Server environment.
Familiar with vulnerability management as pertains to their subject matter expertise per RMF requirements DODI 8510.01.
