We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join the Automation Services Team as a Field Technician. This role is instrumental in the building, deployment, and maintenance of equipment that Smyth's customers use to enhance the selling of their product.

This is a full-time opportunity, working Monday through Friday, days. This role will require moderate levels of travel, at times with very short notice.

Key Responsibilities for Field Technician include :

• Working collaboratively with a Team to design, develop, test, learn, adjust, and execute equipment for our customers
• Managing infield assembly, installation, and preparation of label application equipment
• Providing equipment training, technical support, and troubleshooting, both virtually and infield
• Maintaining inhouse industrial equipment
• Coordinating job tickets for service and equipment orders; completing timely service reports, inventory management, and expense tracking

The ideal candidate must demonstrate :

Clear, effective, and tactical communication, both orally and in writing, to all levels of people inside and outside the organization;

possession of strong English-speaking skills, fluency, and understandability

• Ability to manage time effectively on multiple long- and short-term projects, meeting all related deadlines, while remaining organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a diverse group / variety of people and personalities
• High levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquires and needs of individuals, both internal and external to the organization

Education, Skills, and Experience :

• Required : High school diploma
• Required : 2 years' printing experience in a technical role, or 2-year technical degree
• Required : Ownership of or access to a personal vehicle with minimum insurance requirements
• Preferred : Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, servo / stepper motors
