Job Description:

Our firm is growing steadily and transitioning to a modern firm (remote, no ridiculous busy season hours, no paper; not there yet but actively working on it). We're looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to grow with that will also handle bookkeeping for monthly and annual business clients. We can train in bookkeeping but Tax experience is a must. We currently have many clients that like to come to the office (does not affect this role much), especially around the tax season but we are actively making a move to being fully remote. It may take two years or so to be fully remote.

Snap Advisory recently merged with an established practice in San Jose and worked through a transitioning tax season. Far from perfect but we’re improving all aspects of the business every week.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing Individual & Business Tax Returns
• Prepare or update tax estimates as needed
• Onboard individual and business clients
• Keep up to date on tax education (firm provided)
• Help clean up messy client books (with support) to prep for tax return
• Work with Accounting Managers to look for tax planning and advice
• Work on monthly bookkeeping, running reports in monthly production
• Assis with Monthly payroll (using third party processor)
• Follow company procedures & systems
• Assist with other filings; sales tax, 1099s, business property returns

Qualifications:

• 3 years Experience with individual & business tax returns
• Bonus: experience with Prosystems FX
• Bonus: working with BNA Income Tax Planner
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Enjoys numbers and is technologically savvy with computers
• Experience with QuickBooks Online (or other accounting systems)
• Have or willing to get CTEC (paid by firm), not needed if CPA or EA

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
