Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced product manager to own and define the trajectory of WherobotsAI and WherobotsDB. WherobotsAI and WherobotsDB are the products that unlock insights from planetary-scale geospatial datasets. We believe AI, ML, and modern analytics capabilities will empower businesses, scientific organizations, and governments to create sustainable relationships between Earth, business, and people, by creating solutions to otherwise infeasible problems at-scale. These differentiated products will make this belief a reality, and are strategic to Wherobots.
Wherobots is backed by experienced venture firms, Wing Venture Capital and Clear Ventures. Our growth will be product led, where capabilities enable a fully self-service experience across different customer profiles. We are have usage and high interest across different industries and use cases, including well known banking and insurance organizations. Wherobots is hybrid- friendly, with an office location at the 9zero office space in San Francisco, and an office opening in the Seattle area soon. We are looking to hire for the greater San Francisco or Seattle areas.
Opportunity
You will be the product manager responsible for WherobotsAI and WherobotsDB. WherobotsAI is a product line that unlocks spatial intelligence by making it easy to deploy AI and ML on satellite imagery or other geospatial datasets at scale. WherobotsDB is a planetary scalable compute engine that performs spatial analytics up to 60x more performantly than popular alternatives found in the cloud. WherobotsDB is compatible with but significantly more performant than Apache Sedona.
By gathering evidence from customers, the market, and blending insights with a vision, you will prescribe how we should shape these products to optimize growth and their impact in the world, using crisp and complete documentation. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and developers to optimize critical user journeys for WherobotsAI and DB. You will evaluate and raise pivotal investment decisions, prescribe product requirements, and lead go-to-market execution. You'll report into the Head of Product, but partner closely with multiple Wherobots internal functions, particularly engineering, marketing, and leadership. Because these products create important advantages for Wherobots, you will play a critical role in the success of Wherobots as a company.

Responsibilities

• Own the developer, UI, and API experiences for WherobotsAI and WherobotsDB
• Investigate, propose, define, and execute new product and feature investments.
• Manage the roadmap and customer interactions.
• Be the face of WherobotsAI and WherobotsDB externally, through public advocacy (presentations, blogs, meetings, conferences)
• Identify when, why, and how to appropriately leverage modern technologies such as machine learning, AI, or LLMs to grow the business and advance user journeys.
• Use data, KPIs, and mechanisms to drive continuous improvement at-scale.
• Be obsessed about maintaining a high bar for simplicity
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in ML and AI technologies
• Be a strong engineering partner and the voice of the customer
• Influence or own commercialization decisions, such as pricing and packaging

Qualifications

• Experience working with AI, ML, and/or distributed analytics frameworks such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
• 5 years managing technical B2B products in the cloud at a significant scale.
• Evidence of strong verbal and written english communication
• Proficiency with Python and SQL
• Experience using and describing technical products to public audiences in simple terms
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with modern data architectures like data lakes, data lakehouses, and data warehouses.

Compensation and benefits
Wherobots offers competitive compensation, equity, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is $175k-$250k per year.
Although we aim to establish a primary product presence in the Seattle area, we are ope to the San Francisco area. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay, and final title of role, will vary based on factors such as work location, seniority, skills, and experience of the candidate.
