Snelling Staffing is in search of a General Manager for local seafood business that has been in the Baton Rouge area for 60 years. The position will develop, direct, and oversee day-to-day operations of the business. It is the responsibility of the General Manager to ensure the facility has proper systems and procedures in place to effectively grow the organization through leadership, management, and vision.

Business Hours are Monday through Sunday from 8:00AM-7:00PM. The General Manager will have two days off during the week. Some days will include working all day while others would be working from Open-4:00PM or 11:30AM-Close. Candidates must be available to work weekends.

Salary: $80,000 per year

General Manager Responsibilities

• Coordinate Daily Operations- Manager all aspects of the store, including food production, pricing, merchandising, and security measures.
• Supply Chain Management- Manage inventory, stock rotation, ensuring freshness and availability. Work closely with vendors.
• Merchandising- Maximize Sales. Optimize portfolio. Create new products.
• Team Leadership and Training
• Policy Enforcement
• Quality Assurance and Compliance
• Oversee execution of catering, delivery, and special requests
• Marketing
• Budgeting and Finacial Management
• Strategic Planning- Develop longer term strategies to improve customer service, boost store sales, explore growth beyond the current location, and increase profitability while being mindful of customer satisfaction
• Human Resource Function- Staffing, Scheduling, Leadership, Performance Managment, Development, and Training

General Manager Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5 years of relevant experience in grocery, seafood, retail, food service, customer service, and/or related field
• 5 years of General Manager experience or in a similar leadership role
• ServSafe Manager Certification ( REQUIRED!! )
• Knowledge of and Skills in Change Management, grocery/market operations, inventory management, and customer service
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, coach, delegate, and motivate a team
• Strong problem solving skills
• Computer competency skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
