What does your role bring to the table?

The Director of Training and NRO Execution is the leader in all things LEARNING! Snooze holds the personal and professional growth of our Snoozers close to our hearts and believes that this leader is responsible for instilling and continuing a learning culture at Snooze. This dynamic leader will not only establish learning criteria, but they will also identify organizational gaps for all levels of learners and address them by creating culture-forward, values-driven opportunities for growth. By delivering a hands-on approach to learning, this Snoozy individual will greatly impact existing restaurant and Mothership operations, Mothership support and New Baby Snoozes with creative and innovative learning tools and systems that encompass our dedication to our True North- the Guest! YOU are the final puzzle piece to a picture of strong cultural excellence around education and inspiration!

The Position specifics!

Taking on the role of Director of Training and NRO Execution isn’t just about bacon and pancakes. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Fully support management teams in all existing restaurants with the rollout of management and hourly level training programs and systems developed by Snooze, setting a standard of excellence in operational standards and guest service.
  • Fully support Mothership departments with all restaurant training programs and systems developed by Snooze and assist in providing all support team training in relation to restaurant operations.
  • Create, manage, and influence all operating budgets relative to management and hourly training, new restaurant openings, and learning management systems/tools.
  • Co-lead and co-create thoughtful leadership development programs surrounding all levels of leadership and positions at Snooze in collaboration with COO, VP of Operations, and People Culture Team.
  • Oversee and guide the management of the Snooze Manager in Training Program including aspects of management selection, training syllabi, development of training managers, booking and managing travel requirements, trainee and restaurant communication, management level orientation and trainee mentoring.
  • Collaborate with the COO in the guidance and management of all New Baby Snooze Openings (NROs) via establishing training criteria and expectations, assisting in openings if necessary and guiding the development of the Snooze Trotters program.
  • Create, develop, and maintain Training Restaurant Status systems, tools, and metrics. Collaborate with Ops to audit and update training restaurants on regular intervals.
  • Oversee and guide the evolution and continued development of our eLearning LMS system and all content related to training and brand communication.
  • Assist in the creation of graphics or instructional design tools needed to support all Mothership departments.
  • Lead the development of manager-level training content and structure for weekly operations meetings, Snooze University meetings, State of the State, and Ops Excellence meetings.
  • Lead and develop multi-lingual learning content and assist in companywide diversity in learning metrics
  • Maintain Snooze’s Leadership Resource lists (books, seminars, videos, development content) 
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers around necessary training and accountability measures for all training.
  • Be the “innovation owner” as it relates to future learning programs, systems, and virtual learning needs. 
  • Maintain connection with the restaurants and positional training via on-the-job days once per quarter.
  • Work collaboratively with COO to develop and execute on all departmental goals and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Ops and People Team around all SWAF training topics, ensuring appropriate details pull through and are memorialized within Snooze operational training systems and guidelines. 
  • Maintain a strong and collaborative partnership with People Team on leadership development, performance management, and on-going development opportunities and priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Snooze Leadership Team to meet all goals and objectives.
  • Provide performance evaluation feedback to operations leaders in relation to all training systems and tools.
  • Develop assessment tools and metrics to evaluate training effectiveness and ROI on systems and tools.
  • Collect and analyze data on training outcomes, Snoozer skills development, and operational impact.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and innovations in training and development.
  • Incorporate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance training effectiveness and engagement.
  • Partner with COO and CPCO to attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to network with industry professionals and gain insights into emerging training practices.
  • Other duties assigned as necessary to meet company goals and objectives

Let’s talk prerequisites! (Education, credentials, and experience)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Direct experience with adult learning principles
  • 4 years working in a leadership position that includes direct management/supervisory experience related to training.
  • 1 years of working in a director level or higher position within training.
  • 6 years working directly in the food service and hospitality sector (or other relevant service sector)
  • Experience designing, developing and/ or implementing training courses and programs, utilizing a systematic approach (preferably in a hospitality environment)
  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with other eLearning and LMS platforms/tools such as Articulate, Lessonly, Storyvine, Wisetail, etc.

Let’s get physical! (Additional requirements)

  • Must have the stamina to work 45-55 hours per week.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • The travel required for this position is approximately 25% and must be able to travel for up to 3 weeks at one time (air, car, bus, train and weekend travel all required)
  • Home base in Denver, CO at the Snooze Mothership (relocation available upon discussion and flexible work schedule optional)

The Nitty Gritty Details

Denver area base salary range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Snooze salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Snooze’s total compensation package for employees.
