Position Summary: The Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) at Snoqualmie Valley Health will provide visionary leadership to elevate nursing practices and ensure the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care. The CNE will play a critical role in shaping the future of nursing within the organization, driving quality improvement, and leading the transformation of patient care services.

Essential Functions:

Staff Leadership and Development:

  • Serve as a role model and help others to thrive through effective personal coaching and mentoring using change management principles.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff.

Quality and Patient Safety:

  • Ensure that nursing practices meet or exceed established quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor patient care metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Address patient and family concerns and advocate for patient-centered care.
  • Ensures robust patient safety and risk management programs and actions.

OBSESS OVER EXCELLENCE: You will uphold the highest standards of nursing practice, continuously seeking improvement and innovation to deliver exceptional care.

Operational Management:

  • Works with organizational nursing leaders to oversee daily operations of nursing departments, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of care.
  • Monitor and manage nursing budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
  • Implement and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Leverages technology to enhance outcomes and professional practice.
  • Skilled in financial budgeting and resource allocation.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure that nursing practices comply with state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare for and participate in accreditation and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of SVH standards of conduct, policies and procedures to ensure adherence and reflect honest, ethical and professional behavior.

LEAD INNOVATION: You will spearhead creative solutions and agile thinking, embracing bold strategies to meet the evolving needs of our patients and staff.

Strategic & Innovative Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the nursing department's strategic plan in alignment with the organization's overall mission and vision.
  • Lead initiatives to advance nursing practice, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the quality of care.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to integrate nursing services into the broader organizational strategy.
  • Responsive and able to react to changing internal and external environments and responds quickly to trends and opportunities internal and external to the healthcare industry.
  • Leads innovation and change to overcome resistance and ensures knowledge creation and transfer.

DEEPEN CONNECTIONS: You will cultivate strong relationships with patients, families and community partners, ensuring that our care is compassionate, connected, and community centered.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborates with physician/provider and nursing leaders to achieve evidence-based patient care protocols and delivery models.
  • Work closely with other department leaders to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination of care.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and executive leadership, communicating key issues and initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in external forums and professional organizations as needed.
  • Participate in The Rural Collaborative CNO/CNE committee.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Master’s degree in nursing, master’s degree in healthcare administration, or master’s degree in business or related field.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Doctorate in Nursing.

REQUIRED LICENSURE: Active RN license in Washington state.

SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION: CENP, NEA-BC, FACHE, etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, including a minimum of 3 years in an executive or senior management role.

SKILLS: Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement, and patient safety standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office and clinical settings with potential exposure to patient care areas.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • May require occasional travel between facility locations.

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.

Employee Dependents - Your legal spouse or domestic partner, Dependent children until age 26.
