Job Description: Interventional Radiology Technician

Department: Mount Carmel East (Interventional Radiology)
Shift Timings: 07:00 - 19:00, Monday to Friday (3 days/12 hours)
Hours Per Week: 36 Hours

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Patient Preparation: Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations.
• Radiopharmaceutical Administration: Administer radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images.
• Patient and Equipment Positioning: Position patients and equipment, explain the procedures, and ensure patients' comfort.
• Data Management: Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences, and monitor the video display to adjust the density or contrast.
• Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and follow procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
• Diagnostic Imaging: Produce diagnostic images, report important information to the Physician, and update patients' records.
• Scheduling and Supplies: Organize the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitor radiographic supplies.
• Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.

• Technical Expertise: Proficient in Interventional Radiology procedures and techniques.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documenting and adjusting scan sequences.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to perform emergency repairs and handle technical questions.
• Patient Care: Strong focus on patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Certifications & Clearance Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
