Job DescriptionSobi is recruiting an experienced rare disease sales leader for our Health Systems Director (“HSD”) team in the Central U.S. The person will be a key member of the U.S. brand leadership team, and 1 of 3 Commercial Business Directors for the HSD team.
In this role, you will ensure sales forecasts and operational budgets are met or exceeded within the therapeutic area at a regional level by inspiring ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the team
and by regularly communicating Sobi’s vision, business objectives and performance outcomes. The role requires a strategic, collaborative and analytical leadership approach. This includes further building out the HSD team and establishing the launch approach in the Region for a follow-on indication for the brand expected in 2025, pending FDA approval.
This is a remote, Field based role covering the central United States. Preference for the candidate to live in the Chicago, Houston, Dallas or Denver metro areas Essential Responsibilities/Scope Of The JobIncluding, but not limited to the following
  • Achieve or exceed performance goals
    • Achieve or exceed national sales and patient impact goals through motivational leadership, and a strategic, targeted and analytical sales approach
    • Establish Region strategy (in line with brand strategy) to maximize results; including optimal account engagement approach across the Region’s territories
    • Oversee and manage the Region’s utilization of financial resources including, travel expenses and congresses, ensuring funding achieves a business need
  • People Leadership:
    • Build Team out expanded HSD team, fit for purpose for launch environment
    • Lead and influence a team of experienced Health System Directors (“HSDs”), modeling Sobi’s core values
    • Encourage and coach HSDs to continuously develop in their current role and for future opportunities, including providing in field coaching on HSD interactions with stakeholders
    • Focus the team on delivering on high-impact activities by identifying issues and implementing customer-specific approaches based upon their needs, preferences, and market dynamics
    • Assist HSDs in developing strategic business plans to execute on opportunities at the Territory and account level, and ensure alignment with National, East and West Regions specific goals and strategies.
    • Anticipate and remove obstacles so that your team can deliver results and succeed.
    • Proactively scout for talent for the organization with proven experience attracting, developing, and retaining talent
  • Culture:

  • Business & Analytical Strength:
    • Assess sales results and success of account planning strategies, identifying trends and opportunities to augment plans; and ensure HSDs are similarly assessing performance and trends
    • Establish and define IDN target criteria that aligns with the National strategy and goals for the brand and monitor effectiveness
    • Engage directly with key accounts (e.g, HCPs, Director of Pharmacy) to support top priority national initiatives or support strategies for key target accounts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally
    • Ensure coordination with other Commercial Business Directors, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Insights & Analytics, Digital and Legal leadership to develop, align and effectively execute key strategies and tactics to educate the medical community, support patients and ensure access to product.
    • Partner with marketing in development (brand planning) and execution of brand strategies
  • Travel: Up to 60%
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare, at least 5 years specifically with Health Systems / IDNs
  • Extensive experience in rare disease therapeutic areas and KOL development
  • Launch Experience in a sales leadership capacity
  • Experience in Center of Excellence Account Model
  • Prior Sales Management experience, including working in and leading a sales or account team in an institutional (IDN)/ heath system context (buy and bill, formulary, and protocol development).
  • Demonstrated communication competencies, including presentation skills
  • Understanding of the reimbursement and distribution challenges of a biologic, buy and bill product
  • Ability to identify strategies with greatest business impact, formulate an appropriate business plan and enroll their teams to execute the plan
  • Exhibited ability to manage multiple, concurrent work-streams in diverse functional areas
  • Successful experience working in a cross-functional, team selling/education environment
  • Experience in managing budgets
The base salary pay range for this role is $215,000-$275,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
