Summary

The Infrastructure Operations Manager’s role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The Infrastructure Manager will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Manage the organization’s infrastructure lifecycle by determining each infrastructure asset’s ability to provide value to the SCR relative to its cost. Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap, including when to retire, grow or replace, repurpose or sustain.
  • Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Ensure that the implementation of new solutions and services has the necessary support, from planning to execution to post-implementation support and staff training.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.

Operational Management

  • Maintain current knowledge of technical innovations in technology infrastructure, and work with the team to develop a plan to utilize these technologies as appropriate.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
  • Manage all IT system changes in a controlled manner, including standard changes and emergency maintenance relating to business processes, applications, and infrastructure. Enable fast and reliable delivery of change to the business and mitigate the risk of negatively impacting the stability of the changed environment.
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
  • Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with stakeholders.
  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining the network infrastructure.
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
  • Direct and administrate a contingent of network and system administrators and programmers, including conducting performance reviews and corrective action.
  • Responsible for supporting the infrastructure needs of the individual operating departments ensuring a maximum level of guest service and user satisfaction. 
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities, tasks, or duties as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests service needs.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language. 
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.

  • Participate in open communication and provide feedback to management regarding operations, staffing, personal development, and operational productivity.
  • Serve as a contributing Team Member of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians enhancing the Casino’s operations in all its business endeavors.

Education / Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age, or older.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Information Technology 
  • Ten (10) years of experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence. (Significant IT experience and training may be substituted for educational requirements.)
  • Experience in VMware (ESX, VCenter), Cisco Networking (Firewalls, Routers, Switches), Telecom (VoIP, Call Manager)
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technical environments (Operating Systems, file systems, drivers, security, services, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex problems quickly and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Desire to be proactive and progressively demonstrate an increase in role and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while concurrently implementing processes and structures in place.
  • Desire to remain hands-on while having a management and leadership role. 
  • Advanced industry certifications are a plus.
  • Must be able to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States of America.

Certificates, licenses and registration

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license. 
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
