General Mechanical Inspector needed for a contract to hire opportunity with SOC’s client to work in Wilmington, MA
Soc's Client is looking for a General Mechanical Inspector to work in our receiving inspection department. They should be experienced in reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and proficient in using common measuring devices like calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators. They will also be required to enter inspection data into our inspection database. Attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to sit for extended periods. Strong focus, prioritization skills, and teamwork abilities are preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Requirements:
• Certified, or the ability to obtain certification to the below referenced workmanship standards
• Experience with engineering drawings- review and interpretation
• Familiarity with common measuring devices – Caliper, Radius Gages, Micrometers, Optical comparator, Deltronic pins , Vision System
• High attention to detail
• Able to sit for long periods of time.
• Team player and strong communication skills
• Experience creating non-conformances
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and work with cross functional teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Microsoft Word experience
• Ability to review assembly/ test documentation for appropriate traceability and in accordance with internal company procedures.
• Experience inspecting to IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum and/or NASA 8739.4.
• Experience with GD&T ( Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing)
Qualifications:
• Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.
