Job Opportunity: OB/GYN Hospitalist at Alta Bates Hospital, Berkeley, CA
We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN to become part of our team-oriented OB and midwifery hospitalist program at Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, CA.
Alta Bates Hospital, a key component of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, stands as the largest nonprofit medical facility in the East Bay. Renowned for our commitment to community health, we proudly conduct around 5,000 childbirths annually, providing comprehensive care, including for high-risk obstetrics.
Facility Highlights:
  • LDRP Rooms: 24 spacious and well-equipped rooms.
  • Surgical Facilities: Three operating rooms dedicated to labor and delivery.
  • OB Triage: An 8-bed unit for efficient patient assessment.
  • Antepartum Care: A 14-bed Antepartum Unit with MFM co-management.
  • NICU: A robust 55-bed Level-III NICU supported by in-house neonatologists and advanced practice nurses specializing in newborn evaluation and resuscitation.
  • Anesthesiology: Around-the-clock OB anesthesiologists ensure optimal care.
  • Technology: A comprehensive electronic medical records system and remote fetal heart rate monitoring capabilities.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in deliveries and surgical procedures.
  • OB triage and comprehensive patient evaluation and management.
  • Fetal monitoring and providing ED coverage for OB emergencies.
  • Collaborating closely with the on-site midwife and external obstetrics providers who deliver at Alta Bates.
  • Participation in a 24/7 in-house team of two hospitalists and one midwife, supported by a backup hospitalist.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an active, unrestricted California medical license.
  • Current DEA certification.
