Location: We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator for T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners.

Since the Inaugural Game on July 15, 1999, T-Mobile Park has gained a reputation locally, regionally and nationally as a terrific setting for baseball and a great place for baseball fans. Sweeping views of Seattle's downtown skyline, breathtaking sunsets over Puget Sound, combined with excellent views of game action from all angles give fans at T-Mobile Park an experience unequalled in Major League Baseball.

Principal Function:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator will serve as a health and food safety supervisor for culinary teams in one of five on-site central production kitchens that support T-Mobile Park’s catering, premium services, and concessions food and beverage operations. Reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, individuals selected for this team will help coordinate existing food and occupational safety management programs in the culinary department through behavior-based safety initiatives, in-house food safety inspections, diligent record-keeping, monitoring of existing HACCP program, and other duties as assigned by the EHS manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Preferred current enrollment in Bachelor’s degree program in one of the following: Public Health, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Hospitality, Occupational Safety & Health/Industrial Hygiene, or a related degree or Associates Degree plus 1 or more years’ experience in retail food service/catering…OR three or more years’ experience working in back-of-house food and beverage operations in a supervisory role, large venue or catering operation preferred.
  • Experience in administration, recordkeeping, reporting, compliance.
  • Ability to coach and hands-on completition of tasks needed for compliance.
  • Washington Food Worker Card required before starting work.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of WAC 246-215/food safety regulation is a plus.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of HACCP or a food safety management system is a plus.
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (ex- ServSafe) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated initiative in identifying problems timely and effectively.
  • Ability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Training and partnership with back-of-house culinary team members on compliance of food safety & quality assurance (FSQA) and occupational safety & health (OSH) standard operating procedures in line with local, state, federal regulation, and company policy
  • Management of time/temperature log and personal protective equipment use.
  • Verifying compliance by performing in-house food safety inspections, as directed.
  • Working with the EHS manager on root-cause analysis and/or special projects
  • Advising and working with culinary staff to perform corrective action, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the EHS manager.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
