Job Summary

SOFR Academy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as the Global Head of Market Data Sales. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of market data sales initiatives across all regions. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities, develop innovative sales strategies, and drive revenue growth across all client segments.

You'll bring with you a deep understanding of data management around a financial organization, across US Regional banks, money center banks, Principal Trading Firms, asset managers, hedge funds and private market lenders. You are well versed in forming trusted relationships with C-level executives, with experience in long selling cycles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and grow a global team of market data sales professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive performance and exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive market data sales strategies to maximize revenue opportunities and strengthen market presence.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and initiate/manage sales dialog with both current clients and new logo prospects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including financial institutions, trading firms, exchanges, and data vendors, to understand their needs and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Marketing, and Client Engagement teams, to build pipeline and deliver solutions that meet client requirements and differentiate SOFR Academy’s offerings in the marketplace.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify new business opportunities and potential challenges.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis of sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to senior management.
  • Represent SOFR Academy at industry conferences, trade shows, and client events to enhance brand awareness and foster new business opportunities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic direction on global expansion going forward and executing long-term strategies to grow revenue targets set forth by management.

Job Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in market data sales, with a proven track record of success in sales enablement, management and contact development.
  • Experience in lead generation and business development from the financial sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets (options, indices, market data, licensing), trading workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Need to work outside of regular business hours, in addition to frequent travel for client/prospect meetings and industry conferences.
  • Established contact base and influence within target financial institutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence key decision-makers and build trusted internal and external relationships.
  • Self-motivated, driven, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong judgment, interpersonal skills and strong ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of partners/stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Travel requirements: up to 25% of time
  • Minimum Years of Work Experience: 10
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, SOFR Academy, Inc., provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc.
