Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
- Medical Procedures: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, operate medical equipment, and assist in diagnostic testing.
- Monitoring: Monitor and record patient progress and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
- Coordination: Coordinate with doctors, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to provide the best patient care.
- Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-hospital care.
- Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and perform life-saving procedures when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of employment.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) and possibly ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in high-pressure situations.
Pay Rates
Local RNs:
- Hourly Rate: Up to $45 per hour.
- Factors Influencing Pay: Experience, geographic location, type of healthcare facility, shift differentials, and specialized skills or certifications.
Travel RNs:
- Hourly Rate: Up to $52 per hour.
- Additional Compensation: Travel and housing stipends, completion bonuses, and higher pay due to the temporary and flexible nature of the assignments.
Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $52.00 per hour
