Software Engineering Institute is Hiring an Accredited Systems Administrator Near Pittsburgh, PA

Position Summary: We are seeking a well-versed Accredited Systems Administrator to join the SEI Information Assurance team. The Accredited Systems Administrator is a role within the Office of the COS - CIO Information Assurance (IA) team of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) that operates, monitors, and maintains accredited information systems in concert with the SEI IT engineering groups and the Information Assurance Team. This is an opportunity for a clearance-eligible IT professional with strong organization and communication skills and working experience with modern Windows system administration tools and operating techniques in a mixed Windows & Linux environment. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
3-5 years of system and network administration experience using modern system administration tools and operating techniques in a mixed Windows and Linux production infrastructure.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance and ICD 704 eligibility for continued employment.
Will need to meet and maintain DoD 8140 readiness requirements within nine (9) months of employment at SEI's expense.
This position is located in the Pittsburgh, PA office with potential for Infrequent travel to SEI and CMU locations is required; around 15%.

Duties
Ensures server(s) and client stations are operating efficiently and resolves issues.
Verifies that accredited systems maintain their prescribed configuration and addresses/reports deviations from same immediately.
Recommends modifications to enhance server/service performance and reliability.
Regularly communicates with the ISSO and ISSM as well as IT engineering group leaders to convey operational status information relevant to the services in scope.
Additional work hours (weekend and evening hours) may be required on an infrequent basis. May be required to stay at or return to work during incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties as requested.
May assist in the training process for new staff and users.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates well-developed analytical, organization and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to identify user and systems issues and resolve trivial issues independently.
Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating system commands/utilities; demonstrated knowledge of system administration tools and processes such as those used to manage software, Group Policy Objects, and other aspects of Active Directory
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of server and network problem resolution based on examination of events/alerts and system monitors/logs.
Ability to work as part under general supervision with input from the ISSO or ISSM. Most work is performed independently, or in concert with the ISSO, ISSM and appropriate IT engineering groups.
Possess attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks - sometimes under pressure and with shifting priorities; ability to deal collaboratively, diplomatically, and optimally with customers, co-workers and other professional colleagues, managers, and staff.
Computer hardware installation and configuration required on a regular basis, sometimes involving transport of heavy objects (typically under 100 lbs.) short distances, use of hand tools, et cetera. Carrying of light objects (< 20 lbs.) for longer distances (intra-campus; 2-3 city blocks) may also be required.
Desired Experience:
Prior experience as a system / network administrator for services under government cognizance (e.g., DISA, DCSA).
Knowledge of the DoD STIGs and their application in establishing and operating information systems.
Prior experience using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) validation tools, awareness of NISPOM IS-relevant rules, etc.
Current Microsoft certifications; one or more of Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Teams Administrator Associate, etc.
DoD 8140 IAT Level II certifications; CCNA-Security, CySA , CND, Security CE, etc.
Prior experience with Splunk as a power user / administrator.
Candidates with active DOD Top Secret clearance within scope T5 and ICD 704 eligibility are highly desirable.
