Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Technical Systems Analyst for a contract assignment with one of our premier Utility clients in Clinton, CT .

Summary:
The Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for providing leadership, technical guidance, and support for the technical strategy and daily operations of one or more Functional Teams. In this role, you will be responsible for aligning the strategic goals of the Functional Teams you support with that of Information Technology Services (ITS) and the overall technology vision. This person must be highly self-motivated, excel at multitasking, and be comfortable working in a demanding, transforming environment. The Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for Enterprise Solutions associated with aligned Functional Teams.

Responsibilities:
  • This includes strategic planning, process design, vendor relations, technical support and other related deliverables.
  • Expert understanding of software requirements and a solid understanding of user experience design, application programming and system design.
  • Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues in the daily support of aligned functional teams Analyze complex information, identify problems, derive solutions, adjust priorities, make effective procedural decisions, and manage time wisely in a changing environment.
  • Share acquired knowledge with colleagues through formal documentation and communications sessions.
  • Work closely with ITS Technical teams (Windows Server Engineer, Network Engineer, Database Administrators and Security Analysts) to troubleshoot and resolve all daily support issues and maintain optimal system performance. Liaison with Functional Teams and Information Technology Services stakeholders over system selection, configuration, decision-making, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with ITS Technical Teams on solutions roadmaps, new technologies, and system strategies.
  • Develops business case and project estimates where appropriate. Own technical issues when they arise, either seeing them through to completion or handing off to the proper escalation/support path.
  • Participates in all change management activities when deploying new solutions and/or enhancements.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
  • This position is required to respond to emergency calls on a 24X7 basis, and must be able to work off shift hours and weekends to maintain system functionality when necessary.
Required Skills and Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5 years in Technical Systems Analysis with increasing levels of responsibility
  • 5 years supporting Enterprise Applications in a dynamic environment
  • 5 years designing, configuring, and deploying Enterprise Solutions
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional: (CBAP) or Certified Software Business Analyst: (CSBA) preferred but not required
  • Utility experience preferred
  • Experience designing, implementing, configuring and supporting cloud and on premise Enterprise level applications
  • Understanding of database design principals with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
  • Proven Experience working with MS SQL Server and Oracle Databases
  • Experience working with Windows Server/Client operating systems
  • Understanding of Windows permissions and Active Directory
  • Experience with scripting language concepts to aid it the automation of technical processes
  • Strong technical and analytical problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of delivery, multitasking, and expectation setting. Establish credibility with technical and non-technical business owners
  • Experience with Cloud computing concepts
  • Experience with Cloud Software as a Service Application implementation and configuration
  • Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Excellent relationship building, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations to Senior Management
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency to bring problems to a timely resolution
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and take action
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with peers, vendors, and management
  • Valid Driver's license.
