DescriptionWe're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of IT Project Manager within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of systems, infrastructure, networking, and application support to lead OI.

We're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of IT Project Manager within the
Office of Information Technology (OIT). The ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of
systems, infrastructure, networking, and application support to lead OIT and DPH program and
application related projects.
This position will require coordinating and working with other Project Managers, OIT teams,
business leads, and vendors throughout assigned projects and initiatives. Candidate should
have experience with coordinating and managing multiple complex project activities following.

management.
This position will require the candidate to spend time performing work in both on-site and
remote environments within DPH and Georgia Public Health Laboratory locations.
Job ResponsibilitiesManage project tasks (gathering requirements, facilitating design discussions, managing
application development, testing, training, and implementations/rollouts) as required
to keep projects on track.
Build and track a project schedule with key milestones, critical path dependencies and
resource tracking.
Provide customer service responsibilities, including managing expectations,
communicating project status and reporting on lessons learned and retrospective.

Manage communication of status, issues, and project budget to teams, clients, vendors,
and management to ensure key deliverables are met.
Plan, organize, and integrate cross-functional project deliverables.
Manage issue, risk, action, and decision logs and documents key business decisions for
projects and initiatives.
Manage strategies and response plans for risk mitigation and contingency planning

Escalate key issues, risks, and problems to leadership with response plans to address
Manage and maintain project status and resource forecasts current in reporting tools.
Create and present project status reports/dashboards and presentations.
Maintain technical and project documentation related to projects.
Work flexible schedule to allow for special tasks that require after hours
implementations, updates, or testing.
Job Qualifications5 years' experience performing in a project management role overseeing IT projects
Experience working in a State Government environment deploying or maintaining IT
systems
Experience with Response for Proposal/Request for Information analysis and response
5 years documenting systems, standard operating procedures, and/or governance
documentation related to IT systems
3 years' experience business process improvements and performance business
analysis
PMP Certification
Additional Skills RequiredStrong interpersonal and leadership skills, high level of motivation, decisiveness, and
flexibility
Ability to consistently deliver results
Solves complex problems and drives action across the organization
Ability to clearly define system requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to focus and deliver on tight deadlines
Experience writing/interpreting technical documents
Highly organized, effective prioritization skills
Strong analytical abilities
Familiarity with understanding software implementation processes
Knowledge of Healthcare information security principles and regulations
Functional knowledge of Lab Instrument Software and applications
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
Education RequiredBachelor's degree from an accredited University in computer science, engineering, or related field.
