Instructional Designer

Description
As an Instructional Designer within R&D Quality, you will be responsible for partnering with process owners and Subject Matter Experts to create engaging, effective, and innovative learning materials and assessments that support materials for a regulated industry, ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer occurs within the relevant functions.
Essential functions include:
Create engaging learning experiences that driver learner engagement and improve operational effectiveness.
Be the project manager in leading large-scale learning projects across the organization.
Work with senior-level leaders, serving as functional experts, to identify learning goals and successful learning outcomes.
Analyze learning needs across the R&D organization and use this analysis to drive and build content that meets those needs.
Apply industry-standard instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
Use adult learning principles to ensure knowledge transfer.
Design and develop appropriate material/media: Instructor-led training (ILT), On-the-job training (OJT), eLearning modules, audio clips, videos, animation, simulations, role play, gamification, and other educational materials to further enhance learning experiences.
Work with collaborators on criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments.
Support the translation of any content.
Experience, Competencies & Skills
BS/BA degree required.
Advanced degree or experience in instructional design techniques and adult learning principles highly desired
Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing learning programs for pharmaceutical, biologic, or medical device companies.
Experience using instructional design tools to create eLearning content (e.g. Articulate 360, RISE, Storyline, etc.)
Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard learning programs.
Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. GxP)
Ability to take existing and potential content and improve it.
Must be able to effectively work in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
Licenses, Certifications
Instructional Design Certification is desirable but not necessary.
