Business Overview:

Sojourn Philly is a hospitality group of four restaurants: Jet Wine Bar, Rex at The Royal, Café Ynez, and Sor Ynez. Sojourn Philly has been operating restaurants in Philly since 2010. Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The bookkeeper will be using the online platforms to complete duties that include Quickbooks, XtraChef, Google Drive, etc. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, maintain a schedule for financial compliance, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, bill payments, and collections.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions on a regular basis.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of employee wages and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other members of the management team to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and regulatory agencies regarding financial matters.
  • Assist with year-end financial audits and tax preparation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in the restaurant industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Quickbooks is required.
  • Proficiency in XtraChef and Toast is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.

Supervision Received:

The Bookkeeper is immediately under the supervision of the Director of Operations and the Owner. The Bookkeeper will receive consultation, coaching, and accountability from the Director of Operations in all financial responsibilities. The Bookkeeper is held accountable through the PDP with direct oversight from the Director of Operations and HR Director of Sojourn Philly.
