Duties and Responsibilities:

Outreach services:
  • Develops a comprehensive data base of community partners in support of the target population.
  • Actively communicates program requirements, services, and other information about EOC.
  • Assists the Program Manager with developing and disseminating flyers, brochures, and web content regarding program services,
goals, objectives, successes, and outcomes.
  • Ensures all materials needed for outreach activities and events are available and sufficient.
  • Serves as program advocate and liaison to internal and external constituents.
  • Coordinates, develops, and presents student success workshops on study skills, financial literacy, goal setting, time management,
work readiness skills, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with others to help provide a student-centered environment that encourages increased college access and
student success.
Case management:
  • Provides intrusive advising, counseling, mentoring, and support services to participants.
  • Coordinates, develops, and implements comprehensive advising, academic, tutorial, and support services to ensure increased
college access and student success.
  • Monitors the academic progress, persistence, and retention of program participants.
  • Maintains an electronic database of student files.
Program compliance:
  • Maintains adequate program records and documentation to ensure accountability, audit-readiness, and quality evaluation.
  • Submits monthly, quarterly, semester, and annual compliance and performance reports.
  • Adheres to applicable federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations in order to meet recruitment and contractual
performance goals.
Administrative activities:
  • Predictable and reliable attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of services.
  • Assists the Program Manager with program development and strategic planning, and monitoring outreach priorities and progress
towards department goals.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential associated with prospective applicants and
program participants.
  • Provides outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Attends professional development conferences, trainings, workshops, and meetings.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, business, or related field OR degree substitution.
Acceptable Substitutions:
  • Associate’s degree with 4 years of directly related work experience
  • Or 8 years of directly related work experience

Required Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing academic support services programs (e.g., career counseling, academic advising, and financial aid & financial literacy instruction)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Personal computer literacy, including effective use of the Internet.
  • A high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) with the ability to learn and efficiently
utilize various case management software programs.
  • Successful project management skills and collaborative community and partnership engagement.
  • Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with individuals at all levels.
  • Understanding of federal and state compliance regarding U.S. Department of Education grants.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • Possess an active, unencumbered driver’s license.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with military students, veterans, and/or active service members
  • Experience working in community and college settings with adults
  • Demonstrated experience achieving measurable outcomes within desired timelines
  • First-hand experience overcoming barriers such as those that affect EOC participants
