Solar One seeks a skilled and motivated Marketing and External Affairs Manager to join our team of 53 employees. The successful candidate will work closely with Solar One’s Chief External Affairs Officer and CEO and in cooperation with program leads, bringing communications expertise to effectively increase Solar One’s visibility throughout the New York metro area. 

The Marketing and External Affairs Manager will: 

• Assist the Chief External Affairs Officer and CEO in developing a communications strategy and managing day-to-day strategy implementation. 

• Manage website, email newsletter strategy, and social media, in partnership with Solar One teams. 

• Oversee print and digital marketing content across all Solar One departments. 

• Produce copy and graphics, and work with team members to develop strategic marketing and partnership opportunities in support of events, programs, and fundraising efforts. 

• Manage Solar One’s brand awareness and organizational adherence to Solar One’s brand strategy. 

• Coordinate press outreach, including drafting press releases and op-ed pieces in partnership with CEO, CEAO, and Managing Directors. 

• Facilitate and support public speaking engagements for CEO and other Solar One team members.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree with five years of experience in communications/marketing

• Strong leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills, including in-person, email, phone, and video conferencing etiquette

• Excellent creative problem-solving ability

• Demonstrated social media platform management fluency, including community building, analytics, campaign strategy, and management

• Experience with WordPress is required.

• Advanced MS Office and computer skills, fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and familiarity with other commonly used creative design tools, and content management systems

Pay and Benefits

Position Type: Full-time (35 hours)

Starting Annual Salary: $72,000 - $78,000
