Injection Molding Specialist – Set Up Tech (3rd* shift)*
Shift Schedule: 11:45 PM to 8AM

Position Overview: The Injection Molding Specialist (aka. Set Up Tech) is responsible for managing various tasks related to mold exchanges in injection molding machines. The role requires adherence to proper, timely, and safe procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

• Follow correct mold installation procedures, including those for molds with SM process.
• Read Work Orders and install the appropriate mold with correct inserts, if applicable, using the Mold Setup sheet, Scientific Molding Process water diagrams, and the Mold Setup Checklist.
• Ensure cleanliness of mold’s parting line, cavity/core inserts, and part chute or conveyer belt after mold installation.
• Maintain the mold by cleaning and protecting its parting line, lubricating moving parts, and preventing rust.
• Change mold inserts as needed.
• Familiarize oneself with all types of injection machine controllers.
• Clean up after mold installations and return removed molds to their proper location.
• Communicate any mold/machine issues to the supervisor before installation/removal.
• Train personnel in grinding and material handling.
• Manage supplied tools and report any missing or broken ones.
• Act as a backup to the assistant supervisor, with the ability to start up an injection machine.
• Undertake other projects as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Certified and able to use a forklift.
• Committed to working safely and following all safety precautions.
• Willing to improve abilities in line with the skilled labor training matrix.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications:

• Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
• Understands and can demonstrate all safety requirements for using and handling molds and injection machines.
• Prior experience with injection machine processes is preferred.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with injection molding MFG floor, mold storage, and handling.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting required.
