Caseload : High School Functional Skills (Ages 14-22) in Autism Classroom
Job Description : Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated School Paraprofessional to join our team in the Hartford, Connecticut area.
This position will involve providing instructional support in an Autism classroom with a high school functional skills caseload.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable assisting with mild behaviors in the classroom and must be willing to provide support with toileting as needed.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
- Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide support with toileting and personal care as needed.
Schedule :
- Full-time position
- Hours : 7 : 30 am - 2 : 30 pm
- Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) preferred.
- Experience working in a school setting or with adolescents preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be punctual, flexible, and demonstrate initiative on assignment.
Additional Information :
- The director is strict about flexibility, punctuality, and candidates showing initiative on assignment.
- Pay range : $21-25 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
