Position: Part-Time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Location: Ludingtonville, NY
Hours: 3 hours per day
Student: Elementary-aged student

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of the visually impaired student.
• Provide direct instruction in braille, assistive technology, and other adaptive skills.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the students needs are met.
• Adapt curriculum materials to make them accessible for the visually impaired student.
• Monitor and assess the student's progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Advocate for the students needs within the school environment.

Qualifications:

• Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with a valid teaching license.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students who are visually impaired.
• Proficiency in braille and assistive technologies.
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• passionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the unique needs of visually impaired students.

Working Hours:

• 3 hours per day, with a flexible schedule to be determined in collaboration with the school and the student's family.
