Title: Physical Therapist (PT) - 2024-2025 School Year

Location: Weymouth, MA

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Weymouth, MA. As an essential member of our educational munity, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing physical therapy services to support students' motor development, mobility, and functional abilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct prehensive evaluations to assess students' motor skills, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities, identifying areas of need and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals.
  2. Provide direct physical therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve motor function, mobility, and gross motor skills, both individually and in group settings.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support staff to integrate physical therapy goals into students' educational plans and classroom activities, ensuring consistency and carryover of skills across environments.
  4. Monitor students' progress and response to therapy interventions, documenting observations, progress notes, and treatment outes to inform ongoing assessment and planning.
  5. Provide education and training to students, families, and caregivers on remended strategies, techniques, and exercises to support motor development, mobility, and functional independence in daily activities.
  6. Assist in the selection and adaptation of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications to support students' access and participation in educational activities and environments.
  7. Participate in team meetings, including individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, to review student progress, discuss assessment results, and develop or revise educational plans as needed.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant records in pliance with state and federal regulations and school policies.
  9. Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of physical therapy, collaborating with colleagues and pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes motor development, independence, and participation for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Massachusetts state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, munication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility, creativity, and adaptability in addressing students' diverse needs.

  • Proficiency in puter skills for documentation and data management purposes.
