Registered Nurse - CSICU Coronary Care

Location: New York, NY 10025

Pay Rate: $65/hr

Shift: Night Shift - 7:00PM-7:00AM - Rotating weekends

Duration: 13 weeks, extension eligible

Role Overview: The Clinical Nurse in the CSICU Coronary Care unit at a prominent healthcare facility is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care based on nursing theory, evidence-based practice, and organizational standards. This role emphasizes Relationship Centered Care, focusing on patient experience, quality improvement, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
• Prioritizes patient care needs including education, coaching, and discharge planning.
• Implements interventions based on assessment findings and evidence-based practices.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Models Relationship Centered Care principles through various patient interactions.
• Respects and integrates patient values, preferences, and cultural diversity into care.
• Maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Implements Purposeful Hourly Rounding and service recovery as needed.
• Practices safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
• Participates in quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice activities.
• Documents nursing interventions accurately and in compliance with standards.
• Utilizes institutional technology for documentation and quality initiatives.
• Coordinates with management to ensure adequate supply inventory and resource allocation.
• Performs charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Facilitates patient throughput and efficient care delivery.
• Advances clinical competence and fosters a culture of learning.
• Demonstrates professionalism and ethical decision-making.
• Participates in nursing committees and unit initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with current NYS license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Associate degree accepted with relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Post Open Heart and Cardiac Care Unit.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• Epic experience highly preferred.
• Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule, including weekends.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate of $65/hr.
