Our client, a NY based fashion company is looking for Designer. The Designer will be responsible for designing innovative and commercially viable products that deliver value and style while achieving brand aesthetic for the Women's Tops Team. This is a fully remote freelance position based in NYC.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the broader design team to develop and design seasonal brand concept and product platforms.
• Create flat or technical sketches and update tech packs in PLM system for each season.
• Conduct research to identify consumer-relevant product trends and opportunities in fit, fabric, and style.
• Participate in fittings, ensure that the design team is prepared with all necessary tools and samples prior to fitting.
• Ensure clarity of communication by compiling any notes and sending recaps as necessary.
• Execute direction given by design leads ensuring all big ideas are represented in specific categories.
• Maintain effective partnerships with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals.
• Review prototypes and mock-ups and ensure correct and accurate comments are communicated to cross-functional partners.
• Design, brief, and track pattern approvals in collaboration with Manager and Product Developer.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design or Apparel Design.
• 5 years of Design experience, Women's preferred!
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, textiles, finishing techniques, and processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams.
