Position Description:

Chemical technicians typically do the following: Monitor chemical processes and test product quality to make sure that they meet standards and specifications. Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Maintain production equipment and troubleshoot problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Chemistry Lab Technicians must be able to perform all lab analysis using burettes, pipettes, pH/ion meters, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, laboratory balance, hydrometers, hull cells, CVS, and all other lab related equipment
• Will perform all lab analysis and special tests for in support of the Process Engineer(s) and Engineering Manager
• Will be interfacing with operators in the chemical process area of the production facility
• At times, will meet with vendors to learn from and work with maintaining chemical agents
• Assist with maintaining order and cleanliness of the lab
• Required to undergo Chemical Handling training prior to the start of performing these duties and will actively participate in ongoing hazardous waste and chemical handling training

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have basic understanding working in a chemistry lab
• Two years of experience in the Wet Process department or related chemical environment is a plus
• Associates degree or higher in Chemistry is a plus
• Team-oriented and the ability to communicate well with team members and other departments
• Detailed oriented with the ability to write and maintain documentation as well as follow procedures
• The successful candidates are expected to be motivated, adaptable, innovative, responsible, and operate within safety guidelines
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time during your shift
• Ability to life up to 30 pounds
