Our more than 30 programs throughout the district provide comprehensive services that lead to mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, living-wage employment, and affordable housing. SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking apart-time Nurse Practitioner to support our FQHC (Health Services) department at our main headquarters location in NW Washington, DC.

Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $55.52 to $65.23 and may be commensurate with experience.

Position Description: The Nurse Practitioner provides medical and nursing care to clients in Medical Services program. In addition, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary care services; including diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance.

Schedule: Wednesday, 12:30pm - 4:30pm, Thursday, 8:00am 4:30pm, &Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm (20-22 hours per week)

Required: Master's Degree in Nursing; 3-5 yrs experience in Primary Care or Ambulatory Care Setting

Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing; 5 yrs of experience in Primary Care or Ambulatory Care Setting

Required License/Certification: Certified Nursing Practitioner by the District of Columbia Department of Health, CPR/First Aid, AED, Current DEA certificate, Current CDS License, Active DC RN License

Expected Contributions: Clinical Care

• Conduct triage, medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment delivery to clients
• Conduct full history and physical examinations
• Review laboratory results and imaging studies; communicate findings to patients
• Review compliance to medical procedures
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
• Review client medication concerns
• Update patient education materials and provide health education and counseling
• Make health referrals to medical specialists
• Collaborate with Mental Health and Dental Health to provide comprehensive patient care
• Review medical emergencies and provide guidance for treatment

Reports to: Senior Director, FQHC

Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.
