We are seeking a full-time remote Engineered Wood Products (EWP) Designer to assist with EWP designs for the Northeast region. We are a distributor of engineered lumber products (I Joist, LVL, Glulam, etc.), and we perform design and layout duties for retailers across much of the U.S.This posting is specific for our Boston, Rochester and Warwick, NY markets. The ideal candidate would be performing design duties in all three markets.We collaborate with co-workers, retailers, builders, architects and engineers and we do so at a high level with great attention to detail, accuracy and customer satisfaction.If you are an experienced and driven EWP Designer and you're looking for a new (remote) opportunity, this may be a good fit for you.
Responsibilities:

• Perform designs, layouts, placement plans and size beams with provided software
• Generate customer quotes
• Offer alternatives and solutions as problems arise in the field or as plan changes are made
• Provide software generated calculations when requested
• Plan your design(s) based on Retailer and Builder preferences as well as current products available in each respective market.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years min. experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a high volume and fast paced environment
• Well-rounded knowledge of general construction practices and principles
• Good understanding of trussed roofs and some stick framed roofs.
• Highly organized and communicates well
• Home office with a stable/high speed internet connection and 4G/5G coverage
