Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery:
Develop and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ IEPs.
Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
IEP Development and Implementation:
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop, review, and update IEPs.
Monitor and document students’ progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction as necessary.
Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students’ strengths, needs, and progress.
Classroom Management:
Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.
Implement effective behavior management strategies to address and support students’ social-emotional needs.
Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom that fosters respect and cooperation among students.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with general education teachers to support students’ inclusion in the general education setting.
Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
Collaborate with school staff, including counselors, psychologists, and other support personnel, to ensure comprehensive student support.
Assessment and Reporting:
Conduct assessments to identify students’ academic and functional strengths and needs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEPs, and other required documentation.
Prepare and present reports during IEP meetings and parent conferences.

Professional Development:
Stay informed of best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development.
Engage in school and district initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for all students.
Collaborate with colleagues to share strategies and resources for effective teaching.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid California Education Specialist Credential.
• Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a K-12 setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and inclusive teaching practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
