Job Responsibilities:
- Daily posting of cash receipts and reconciliation of tenant ledgers
- Process rent payments, and invoices for the preparation of journal entries and record any adjustments and depreciation expense.
- Post monthly rental and utility charges and process security deposit refunds, adjusting tenant account billing and charges, as necessary.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Monitoring the weekly cash position of multiple bank accounts.
- Review all Accounts Payable activities including vendor statement reconciliation, accurate invoice coding, and process weekly check run.
- Records and reconciles transactions that cascade across related entities.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Responsible for the accurate set up of properties in AppFolio and preparation of regular reporting.
- Manages Common Area Maintenance (CAM) accounts, reconciling and making appropriate journal entries.
- Record acquisition and refinancing entries as directed by the Senior Property Accountant
- Assist in the research and explanation of budget to actual variances in collaboration with the Property Management Team to share these explanations with leadership and ownership.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and budgets for ownership and management review.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Four-year college degree in Accounting.
- Experience with real estate accounting software AppFolio (preferred), Yardi, or related.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience in real estate accounting and finance.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and the requirements of real estate organizations
- MS Office, Windows required with proficiency in Excel.
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
