The Sonnenalp is looking for a Purchasing Clerk Full-Time Year-Round. This position will accept applications until July 1st, 2024 or later. Paid Housing available.

Wage: $18.00 - $21.00, plus an average of $3 per hour additional in Culinary appreciation fee.

Primary Purpose of Position

As a Purchasing Clerk at Sonnenalp Hotel, you will be a key member of our purchasing team, responsible for providing advanced assistance and support to ensure efficient operations of the purchasing department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Level III)

• Use the S.O.P. daily check-list every day.
• Assist the Manager in daily order placement, ensuring timely and accurate procurement of required products and supplies.
• Support the Manager in conducting monthly inventory checks, including printing forms, distribution, counting, receiving inventory forms, and entering data into Food Trak system.
• Verify products on invoices upon delivery, making adjustments as necessary and promptly communicating any discrepancies or issues to the Purchasing Manager.
• Verify product quality upon receipt, documenting any concerns and communicating with suppliers as needed.
• Assist in the training of new purchasing staff members, ensuring they understand and adhere to departmental procedures and standards.
• Double check all requisitions and invoices when working with new staff members.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and requisitions, ensuring all documentation is complete and filed appropriately.
• When checking packages delivered via special transport (i.e. RAC, DAC) verify all packages are delivered before signing packing slip (record all packages on our daily calendar of deliveries).
• Notify manager of any back orders or any special delivery requests
• Ensure all requisitions are filled with name of house, name of outlet, signature, date, and time to be delivered
• Ensure that all items removed from purchasing without a requisition are recorded properly.
• Clean and sanitize all purchasing areas at the end of each shift, including work tables, desks, and entrance areas.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and procurement best practices.
• Mentor junior staff members, provide training on procurement processes and systems.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within the procurement workflow.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 1-3 years experience in a warehouse or food and beverage department preferred.

Special Skills/Equipment

• Proficiency in basic mathematics and spreadsheet software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees and external suppliers.
• Experience with POS systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on safety.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
