Serves as initial point of HR contact for front line employees, managers, and external parties’ matters that are up to moderately complex in nature. These matters may include, but not limited to: employee relations, policy interpretation and administration, disciplinary actions below final written warning, requests for information, HRIS transactions, new hire orientation, ethics compliance, performance appraisal process, and internal correspondence. Ensures Human Resources Manager (HRM) is aware of business matters. Will advise Human Resources Director (HRD) for matters that are more complex in nature in partnership with HRM.
Responsibilities:
· Manages simple to moderately complex human resources matters, references employee handbook, interprets company policy and procedures, and replies to inquiries. Engages centers of expertise as appropriate.
· Answer general employee questions regarding any employee needs.
· Responsible for completing the change request form for all HRIS system transactions, new hires, changes, terminations.
· Collaborate with HR Compliance Team to evaluate Workers Compensation claims and update records, Works with HRM to manage escalated claims.
· Collaborate with our benefits team on Leaves of Absence.
· Partners with HRM to review ADA Accommodation requests.
· Maintain human resources files to required standards, including personnel files, medical files, recruiting files, I-9’s, etc.
· Consults with HRD in regard to personnel changes resulting in terminations.
· Assist with employee training programs: scheduling, coordinating and tracking.
· Responsible for adhering and promoting all company policies and procedures, as well as adhering and promoting state and federal employment laws.
· Initiates and conducts all exit surveys and interviews with employees below manager level. Consults with HRD on trends and recommendations.
· Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience as well as the efficiency of HR department and company.
· Provide employee relations support for employees and managers. Provide guidance on HR issues and escalate sensitive issues to the HRM.
· Collaborates with managers to prepare and determine appropriateness of disciplinary actions, below final written warning level. Provides HR expertise and ensures factual basis and appropriate documentation results.
· Works with HRM to conduct and document workplace investigations.
· Reviews all Performance Reviews and provides guidance to managers as needed. Assists in tracking on-time performance reviews.
· Works with Talent Acquisition to fill open positions. Updates Manager on status of high priority open reqs.
· Assists with creating job descriptions as needed.
· Collaborate with Compensation Team to ensure we have the most up to date compensation ranges and advises managers based on market analysis and internal equity.
· Conduct interviews as needed, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Assist in projects, such as: HR events, benefits open enrollment, employee communications, company-wide meetings, process improvement, and employee functions.
· Coordinates Above & Beyond Recognition and Spot Recognition programs for site.
· Submits quarterly newsletter data to marketing.
· Compiles and prepares data for statistical reporting and assists with metrics analysis.
· Works well independently and with minimal supervision.
· Document workflow and work procedures.
· Drives a culture of inclusiveness and engagement throughout the organization.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or directly related human resources generalist experience.
· 3 years HR Experience.
· PHR certification preferred.
· Proficient in MS Office suite and HRIS system(s).
· Ability to be self-directed and motivated to execute with minimal direction.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
· Approachable mentality and encourages an open-door culture.
· A customer service vision and a commitment to integrity and responsiveness.
· A collaborative and team player mentality.
· Professional presence - Well-developed oral and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
