Overview

The Senior Water Treatment Equipment Engineer leads the design, development, and optimization of water treatment equipment and systems. Leveraging expertise in mechanical engineering and water treatment technologies, the Senior Water Treatment Equipment Engineer will play a key role in driving innovation, improving product performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, steering the development of such standards where possible. This position requires a passion for creating sustainable solutions to water-related challenges and field-facing communication to create innovative systems that make car washing easy for our customers. 

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of car wash water treatment equipment, including filtration, delivery systems, reclamation systems. 
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of equipment designs. 
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and advanced analysis software packages to create 2D and 3D models, drawings, and simulations of water treatment equipment and systems. 
• Evaluate fluid dynamics of car wash water treatment systems and ensure that all systems are designed to function properly in the field, considering all aspects of the installation, including plumbing, tanking, and the equipment itself. 
• Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards. 
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments related to water treatment equipment and engineering. 
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. 
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for reclaiming and treating wastewater to expand the potential uses for reclaimed water beyond traditional applications. 

• Develop innovative treatment processes and equipment tailored to the specific quality requirements of reclaimed water for non-potable uses in different applications within the carwash. 
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the economic and environmental benefits of implementing reclaimed water systems in various carwash applications and settings, both within the wash bay and around the site, in all non-potable applications. 
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders on the design, installation, and operation of reclaimed water systems, including regulatory compliance and permitting requirements. 
• Develop and/or implement water quality monitoring systems to continuously assess the suitability of different water sources for car wash operations. 
• Support the Chemistry engineering and development team in the research and development of products that minimize interaction with each other in the reclaim settling and holding tanks to maximize water treatment system efficacy. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, development, and optimization of water treatment equipment and systems. 
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor. 
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes. 
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and other engineering simulation tools. 
• Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations governing water treatment equipment, including NSF/ANSI, ASME, and ASTM. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose innovative solutions. 
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
• Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is USD $124,630/Yr. - $168,520/Yr. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
