While reporting to the Plant Manager as the Quality Manager, you will provide hands-on support for the implementation and ongoing utilization of the elements of the Quality Management System. These include; corrective actions, supplier quality management, customer complaints, change control, audit processes, standard procedures, test methods, and process controls thought continuous improvement methodology.
What you'll be doing:
  • responsible for providing leadership to a large or complex plant in the area of maintaining and improving the quality systems as prescribed by the Division and the corporate standards
  • management of change control, data collection schemes, test methods & equipment, standard instructions, audits, manuals, and other routine quality systems areas, training plant personnel in quality processes;
  • direct the activities of hourly quality staff
  • manage the food safety team and organize its work, ensure relevant training and education of the food safety team members, ensure the food safety management system is established, implemented, maintained and updated, and report to the organization's top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system
  • Assist with identifying trends and reports that add value for our leadership teams' decision-making.
  • Participate on teams and lead efforts toward continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
  • Provide support to BU quality leaders in the application and implementation of quality systems.
  • Identify best demonstrated quality systems practices within supported division, leverage results to other divisions.
  • Develop training materials and provide training on systems changes & implementations
  • Support customer, supplier or internal quality audits - develop any required corrective actions
  • Independently manages customer interactions as it relates to product or service quality
  • Identify, define and promote awareness of customer requirements for the plant.
  • Participates in cross-divisional teams or audits.
  • Active member of the plant leadership team.
  • Some level of travel required.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to grasp a general knowledge of division specific manufacturing disciplines, financials, and technologies.
  • Skill at building harmonious and sympathetic relationships with others.
  • Skill at conveying trust in others as well as causing them to feel that one can also be trusted.
  • Manufacturing leadership, engineering, continuous improvement experience (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio within the Rigid Paper & Closures Division.
We'd love to hear from you if:
  • 4-year degree in Engineering;
  • 7 years work experience in manufacturing operating under certified system such as FSSC, ISO, AIB, etc;
  • ASQ Certification;
  • project management experience;
  • statistical analysis expertise,
  • Customer facing interaction experience
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • superior verbal and written communications skills;
  • ability to work across multiple functions and lines of business;
  • experience with managing direct reports;
  • proficiency in the following software Microsoft Suite, SPC software & Agile
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $89,325 to $107,190, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
