In this role, you will be responsible for owning payroll processing functions for all group companies. Accountable for transactional compliance, delivering continuous improvements and service excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the processing of assigned payrolls within a dynamic, high-volume, multi-state shared services environment
- Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of payrolls processed.
- Review, analyze, and reconcile employee data and outputs from HR systems to ensure data and system accuracy.
- Responsible for populating, compiling, and reviewing HR, benefits, and payroll-related data.
- Accountable for reviewing and interpreting data from imports into online databases, and auditing against source documents.
- Accountable for performing periodic reviews to ensure data feeds accurately and timely between Global HRIS, outside vendors, and payroll system modules.
- Responsible for the process of withholding, remit, and reporting HR-related third-party payments including garnishments, payroll tax, and 401k contributions.
- Responsible for reconciliation, reporting, and resolution of payroll taxes processed by third-party vendors.
- Provide peer-to-peer review and sign-off to payroll team members.
- Consult with finance, HR, legal, and other teams for payroll-related topics, inquiries, and projects.
- Responsible for assembling, reviewing, and issue-spotting data relating to HR transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and legal integrations.
- Responsible for timecard extraction, populating, compiling, and reconciling for accurate hours and earnings upload into payroll.
- Responsible for review of requests for new Time & Labor, pay and deduction types, obtaining proper approval from the Department
- Head and subsequent partnership with stakeholders to implement changes.
- Respond to HR/payroll-related inquiries from employees, management, and outside agencies, serving as a resource for payroll issues.
- Active participation/partnership during periodic payroll-related processes including merit, bonus, and year-end.
- Identify and action opportunities for continuous improvement through review, analysis, and interaction with team members/partners.
- Participate in the development, testing, and delivery of new or enhanced functionality and reporting to end users
- Operate in compliance with all applicable laws, Company policy, and compliance standards.
- Remain current on company payroll/HR policies and procedures, administration guidelines, and related regulatory issues for federal, state, and local governments.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources,
- Industrial Relations
- Accounting or related field
- 3-5 years payroll experience in a high-volume multi-unit environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated flexible and efficient time management with the ability to prioritize workload, effectively communicate, and maintain strict confidentiality
- Work collaboratively to build, develop, and implement process improvements
