Position Title:Salesforce Administrator
Salary Range: $96,744.88 - $135,442.83
Job Description Summary:This position is responsible for maximizing application usage and performance, report creation, administration, integration, and vendor management responsibilities for Salesforce.
Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Business Application Administration
  • Establish partnerships with internal stakeholders and collaborate with IT staff to identify opportunities for improving the function and performance of Salesforce.
  • Develop, test, and implement advanced application functions and features to meet organization needs. (Workflows, configurations, performance improvements, etc.)
  • Perform root cause analysis on failures/problems. Coordinate and/or implement fixes and resolutions.
  • Escalate application issues and coordinate with service desk staff, application and development staff, and vendors as appropriate, to ensure timely and successful resolution.
  • Develop monitoring, metrics, reporting and analysis, to help maximize Salesforce performance.
  • Partner with application owners and IT staff to prioritize system backlogs, including enhancement opportunities.
  • Provide work estimates to assist in project and technology resource planning.
  • Maintain understanding of organization objectives to ensure Salesforce roadmaps meet organization needs.
  • Perform and/or assist with testing of Salesforce upgrades, updates, integrations, and system changes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and partner with Salesforce and external support vendors to resolve issues and track adherence to contractual commitments and service level agreements.
  • Adhere to IT standards and security best practices.
Reporting
  • Partner with internal stakeholders in the design and development of organization reports.
  • Write SQL queries against complex database structures and to format and generate reports as requested.
  • Partner with software development staff in the design, testing, and implementation of Salesforce integrations.
Training
  • Develop and document technical and user training guides for Salesforce.
  • Develop and champion best practices and strategies to maximize Salesforce adoption and use.
  • Conduct end user training.
Act as a mentor/lead/role model
  • Serve as a mentor to other application administrators, supporting growth and development.
  • Be an ambassador for application administration lifecycle best practices, educating other application administrators, serving as a role model, and encouraging practices to follow. Provide guidance on complex issues, unique situations, and analysis and requirements challenges.

Additional Job Description:Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field AND a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a combination of application administration, systems administration, systems engineering, support specialist, or related position, with at least five (5) years being in application administration
OR
  • A combination of IT related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience in a combination of application administration, systems administration, systems engineering, support specialist, or related position, with at least seven (7) years being in application administration, equivalent to a total of fourteen (14) years.
  • Five (5) years of experience with business intelligence solutions.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Salesforce application administrator, including configuration experience and knowledge of Salesforce modules.
  • Three (3) years of experience with some of the following project management tools: Azure DevOps, JIRA, and Smartsheets.
  • Strong business process/operational knowledge (e.g., customer service, human resources, finance)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in information technology or related field AND a minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience in a combination of application administration, systems administration, systems engineering, support specialist, or related position, with at least seven (7) years being in application administration.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with business intelligence solutions.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Salesforce application administrator.
  • Five (5) years of experience with some of the following project management tools: Azure DevOps, JIRA, and Smartsheets.

Salary Range:
  • Grade 14, $96,744.88 - $135,442.83 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.

  • This is a remote position, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures.
  • On occasion, may be asked to travel to Staples, MN for meetings, professional development or team activities. Potentially twice per year. Notice will be given ahead of time.
