Position SummaryThis position requires a certified Family & Consumer Sciences teacher for the purpose of teaching skills needed in family-related careers (nutrition and wellness, early child development, exploring or preparing for college and careers, interior design) to students at the high school level.

Job Description
- Possess all requirements for teaching CTE Family & Consumer Sciences
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes
- Has working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, and current researched best practices and strategies, and students' learning styles and needs
- Update the curriculum to meet changing IN state standards and College & Career Pathways for Family and Consumer Sciences.
- Establishes developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicates those to students and their families
- Provide appropriate instruction for students to earn dual credits with post-secondary institutions when appropriate
- Creates lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting, as well as multicultural, gender-fair, disability sensitive. Selects, adapts, and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills
