Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
Knowledge of the techniques and practices of the nursing profession. Knowledge of medical and nursing terminology. Ability to adhere to standing orders, policies, and procedures. Ability to plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of individuals. Ability to interact with individuals in a culturally competent and professional manner. Ability to prepare educational and training materials for nursing care programs. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations. Ability to function as a team member. Ability to instruct, supervise and direct the work of paraprofessional staff. General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Ability to work in a group home like setting or ICF. Physical ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
