About Midlands Regional Center

Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.


Job Responsibilities
:
Under limited supervision, of the Day Program Coordinator to ensure active treatment for consumers in assigned areas is implemented by staff.
Provides supervision to Workforce Specialists I in the assigned Day Supports Area(s) areas and DSPs when assisting the consumers in the Day Supports areas.
Ensures Active Treatment for consumers in assigned areas is implemented by staff.
Monitors documentation to ensure completion and accuracy.
Maintains an environment that is clean/safe, ensuing accountability needs are met based on accountability plans for each consumer, and promoting an environment that provides dignity and respect to all consumers, free from abuse.
Ensures compliance with regulations for DDSN, DHEC, and DOL.
Attends ISP meetings, and business meetings as scheduled.
Performs additional duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a related field. A high school diploma and experience in career counseling or related case management may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for HigherEducation Accreditation

Preferred Qualifications

High school Diploma & at least four (4) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. A Bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
