Job Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and direction to daily custodial activities. Ensure adequate custodial coverage of all buildings, maintaining Title XIX standards at all times. Prove "hands on" assistance with daily custodial activities.
- Perform regularly scheduled housekeeping/sanitation inspections to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained. Report inspection finding to immediate supervisor, and if needed, plans for improvements of corrections.
- Develop staff potential through effective training in efficient custodial techniques and the safe and effective use of cleaning compounds and equipment. Build team spirit departmental professional through strong leadership skills and effective use of staff meetings.
- Maintain accountability for supplies and equipment.
- 15 days annual (vacation) leave accrual per year

Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of how to properly carry out custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance tasks. Knowledge of custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel, procurement and budgeting practices in state government. Knowledge of the concepts and techniques of on-the-job training. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to prioritize and make the optimal use of personnel, materials and equipment. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
College Transcripts: Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application are required to provide an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific time frame required by that area, after hiring.
Driving Record: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
