South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism is Hiring a Maintenance Supervisor Near York, SC
Job Purpose And DutiesAssists the park manager and assists with the overall maintenance activities of Kings Mountain State Park to include upkeep and maintenance of grounds and facilities and the scheduling and supervision of assigned staff and projects.
- Supervises assigned maintenance staff and other personnel.
- Assists in the training of all maintenance or assigned personnel.
- Inspects and maintains all the grounds equipment and related facilities.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies for grounds.
- Requisition of supplies, services, and equipment.
- Have a general knowledge of your specific park’s natural/historical significance and the role each department plays in customer service.
- Practice and promote teamwork within the State Park Service, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
Additional Requirements
- Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other materials, tools and equipment used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Licensed or competent in electrical, plumbing and carpentry trades. Should be able to read and understand written procedures and directions, understand blueprints, and be able to write specifications for materials. Ability to operate various office equipment.
- Must possess a valid S.C. driver license.
Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
