What You Will DoAs an Office Collections Officer, you will work in a call center environment (inbound and outbound) collecting debts and enforcing tax laws for the SCDOR. Primary Job Duties Include
Generating and answering telephone calls and correspondence for enforced collections
Managing taxpayer debts by using SCDOR computer systems and performing enforcement and case management actions to resolve collections cases
Providing assistance to taxpayers, attorneys, CPA's, and POA's
EitherMinimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a related field OR
An associate's degree in a business related field and one year of relevant work experience OR
Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR)
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning Examples of common business or related degrees include accounting, advertising, criminal justice, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, health care management hospitality management, human resources, information technology management, marketing, organizational leadership, public relations, taxation, etc Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience in customer service, inbound call center, tax, or collections

Training:Office Collections Officers will participate in a training program to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their job.
Hours: Work hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
