South Carolina Department of Transportation is Hiring a Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst (61033997) Near Columbia, SC
Job ResponsibilitiesManages a team or area within the accounts payable department to include all related accounting functions and compliance with associated state laws. Analyzes and evaluates existing policies within the agency and develops improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Assists in developing and maintaining program performance standards. Routinely analyzes and ensures the accuracy of financial data. Reviews accounts payable documents to ensure accuracy to meet departmental goals. Reconciles vendor statements and other items as assigned. Addresses all items and any discrepancies, along with providing effective customer service. Performs or completes other related tasks as assigned by management. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional RequirementsA bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and one (1) year of professional experience in a related area, such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
